Weekend Getaway: Montecito CA...

11:34 AM

Dearest Friends,

My husband and I just got back from a long weekend in Montecito (sans baby!) and I wanted to report back on my favorites places and spaces.

Breakfast / Brunch: Jeannines in downtown Montecito. Friendly service, prime outdoor seating, and delicious food.
Lunch: Who doesn't love the Hillstone Restaurant Group? Honor Bar has all your favorite menu items and al fresco dining. Our favorite was Los Arroyos in downtown Montecito. Authentic Mexican and they make a mean skinny margarita.
Dinner: Lucky's Steakhouse is a must if you're looking for a martini and steak dinner. We also loved the outdoor seating and food at The Biltmore. Also, highly recommend a romantic dinner at The Stonehouse and you have to order the Halibut!

A stop to Montecito isn't complete without a little retail therapy. My favorites include stopping at the shopping mart on Coast Village Road. Mate Gallery, Hudson Grace, Intermix, are all a must stop plus Pressed Juicery for a healthy snack.
Located off San Ysidro Road is uber chic Jenni Kayne clothing store and a handful of gorgeous antique home stores.

If you aren't blessed with sunny and warm weather like us then take advantage of the shopping, and short car ride to the Funk Zone. Our favorites included Kunin Wines, Corks n' Crown, and lunch with half glass wine tasting at Les Merchands (hidden behind the Lark Restaurant).
If you are lucky enough to be there on a sunny weekend, there is no limit to the fun. Hikes, walks on butterfly beach, bocci at San Ysidro Ranch, pool at Coral Casino (only available to Four Seasons Biltmore guests).

I lived in jeans, flats, and sweaters during our cool weekend. Evening dinners are a perfect place to bring out an off the shoulder top. Warm weather weekends calls for a eyelet dress. Guys, leave your blazer at home. Collar shirt and khaki's a perfect uniform for this cool California crowd.
